In August 2019, one of the railroad industry’s oldest equipment suppliers, New York Air Brake, demonstrated a new technology that could start and stop a 30-car freight train on its own. Similar technology is used by a mining company in Australia to move mile-long trains full of iron ore, and some believe it could be coming to North America. (New York Air Brake)
