Washington — The Federal Railroad Administration’s Railroad Safety Advisory Committee is scheduled to meet April 24-25 in Washington.
According to a notice published in the April 9 Federal Register, the meeting agenda includes:
- A status update on Positive Train Control implementation.
- Reports from the Passenger Safety Working Group and the Tourist and Historic Railroads Working Group.
- A discussion of proposed procedures for conducting future activities.
RSAC, which develops railroad safety regulations through a consensus process, is made up of 40 members from 29 organizations, representing various industry perspectives. The committee’s charter was renewed in September after lapsing in May 2018. It has not met since May 25, 2017, according to FRA’s website.
