TCU/IAM National President Maratea’s statement on the recent DOL announcement:
“I’m deeply saddened by the Administration’s announcement to effectively cancel Job Corps programs as of June 30th. Thousands of at-risk youth rely on this program every year to help lift themselves out of poverty.
TCU has operated a small but advanced training program through Job Corps since 1971, and has successfully placed over 16,000 students into well-paying careers that return far more in taxes than their educations ever cost.
Our union will be working day and night to make sure the Administration understands the many ways Job Corps benefits both its students and the American people, and I implore President Trump to reverse this decision before thousands of kids are kicked to the street.”
