DEXTER, MO (KFVS) – Stoddard County, Missouri Sheriff Carl Hefner reports heavy damage due to weather in the area.
Trees are lying across roads and power lines are down according to the sheriff.
Ameren Missouri is reporting 191 customers without power.
The Southeast Health Center phone lines and internet are down in Dexter due to the storm.
Deputies are out checking on roads and people at this time.
Sheriff Hefner said they area assisting with a train derailment on 1 mile road.
The train derailed near Busy B Lumber and caused damage to the building according to Hefner.

According to officials at the scene it happened around 9 a.m. there are 13 cars off the tracks on the ground.
There is a broken gas line in the area as well due to the derailment
Officials don’t know exactly what knocked the train over but say it was something strong.

There are no hazardous substances leaking although one train car holds battery acid.
Officials said the most Important thing is getting the containers back up before any hazardous substances begin to leak.
The gas line that broke put natural gas into Busy B Lumber and workers were evacuated.
No injuries have been reported.
